Description and Scope
Description

This data set is a result of the first quantitative survey of Canadian nurses to explore their access to and use of digital health in nursing practice. It was a joint collaboration between the Canadian Nurses Association and Canada Health Infoway. Harris Decima, a third-party, vendor administered the online survey in collaboration with the Infoway and the CNA.

Sampling ProcedureThe CNA distributed email invitations to members where this was available. All nurses with an email address were invited to participate. 1,517 completions via this approach For those without an email address, a notice was posted in the CNA magazine inviting participation. 173 completions via this approach. Nurses in Quebec were invited to the survey via the provincial nursing association.
Collection ModeOnline survey
WeightingData were weighted to reflect the distribution of nurses providing direct care in each province. CIHI 2012 report on Regulated Nurses: Canadian Trends, served as the source document . Weighting factors that were applied are well within industry standard limits (under 2.5)
Response RateA total of 1,690 surveys were completed in English and French between February-March, 2014, over a three week period: • 1,094 in clinical nursing • 281 nursing administration • 240 nursing education • 45 nursing policy • 22 nursing research

No property, ownership or real right or interest in any Datasets, or any component thereof, is granted, assigned, conveyed, transferred or provided to User by virtue of this Agreement or otherwise. Without limitation, User may not, directly or indirectly, alter, destroy or remove any copyright, trade secret, patent, trademark or other proprietary or legal markings or notices placed upon or contained within any Dataset.
DisclaimerUser agrees to fully indemnify and hold harmless Infoway, its licensees, successors and assigns, and its and their officers, shareholders, directors, parents, employees, agents and representatives (the “Indemnified Parties”), from and against any and all actions, claims, losses, damages (whether direct, indirect or otherwise), judgments, reasonable legal fees (including outside attorneys’ fees) and disbursements and any other liabilities and expenses that they may incur in consequence of a breach by User of its obligations under the License Agreement. User shall not use Infoway’s Datasets or any data found therein, or attempt to do or not do anything directly or indirectly, to gain access to any personal identifying information or health-related personal information.
